* You can get… Photo! Editor here. http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/gmm/fwgraphicedit.html
* You will find a whole page of free picture editors to choose from. I have tried and tested several.. you can read others opinons of them also. I have used PhotoFiltre, Photo! Editor, The GIMP… and find each one useful. Good Luck.. and hope you find what your looking for

Gimp – Photoshop knock-off, can use most PhotoShop plug-ins and many of the most popular plug-ins are duplicated in the community and offered freely on this site. http://www.gimp.org ; documentation at http://docs.gimp.org/en/ ; plug-ins at http://registry.gimp.org/index.jsp .
INSTALL NOTES: Download and install this first: http://superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-win/gtk+-2.8.18-setup-1.zip (Gimp Tool Kit). Then download and install this: http://superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-win/gimp-2.2.13-i586-setup-1.zip . Then download and install this: http://superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-win/gimp-gap-2.2.0-setup.zip (animation pack). Lastly, download and install this: http://superb-west.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/gimp-win/gimp-help-2-0.10-setup.zip (help files).

Hello.
Does anyone know where I can get a photo editor for free….not trial versions. I want to take my photos and blend them into backgrounds.
Thanks in advance.
I want to take photos and blend them into different backgrounds.
Here’s an example:
http://www.geekphilosopher.com/bkg/peopleBoyDeskVintage.htm
And then imagine the same boy placed in a different background.
Maybe what I’m asking about isn’t called photo editor, but I want to change backgrounds to make banners, etc…NOT A BANNER MAKER though.
Thanks

While I WANT to say theGimp, that would make me a liar.
Photoshop (esp. CS5 content-aware fill for the win) is just superior in every way. I like the idea of theGimp but the execution falls short.

I am using this program to record my screen while I play games.
Before Total Screen Recorder, I tried like 5 different softwares(including Frag,Camstudio, hypercam…) but I had many issues such as the game is recorded in the corner of the video with these program, the video is so blurry, and constant skipping on the playback of the video because the software can not record fast enough to keep up with the game.
Total Screen Recorder is an awesome software that I can use to record my game without all those annoying crap recording problems. Good Luck!
Free download here!

The very best is Adobe Photoshop CS5, but it is very expensive.
A more sensible choice might be Photoshop Elements (current version is 9) which is Photoshop’s smaller cousin – can’t do all the same things, but it is much cheaper and perfectly adequate for most people.
Another editing program you can get is the Gimp (free and legal). It isn’t pretty, has a big learning curve, but is a great program. http://www.gimp.org/
Or you can go to these free websites, but that option is nowhere near as good as having the program on your computer: http://www.picnik.com or http://www.picture2life.com/ or http://fotoflexer.com/ or http://www.sumopaint.com/ or http://aviary.com/
The last two are your best bet for more complicated tasks.
If you are one of the people who have an issue about installing a program, keep in mind that you only have to install it once, yet if you use a website, you have to first upload each and every photo, work it, then download each one again. MUCH more up and downloading in the long run, and when your internet is down, you have nothing. If you only want to edit a few photos, websites are ok, but if you have more, then resident programs are much better.
You will need to do a lot of reading and learning – those skills don’t happen without effort. Luckily, there are lots of resources available to help you. Start by reading the program’s helpfiles, looking for online tutorials, and checking your library for books.
